About the Products

Root Server are dedicated servers with root access, Cloudservers are virtual instances which offer a great deal of flexibility. There are no resource limitations on the underlying infrastructure, thus cloud servers can be scaled easily and without performance losses. In combination with root access, every customer can use their cloud server infrastructure according to their individual needs.

More about Root Servers & Cloudservers
Root Dedicated Servers
Our Root Servers are – in a nutshell – dedicated servers to which our customers have root access, which stands for full admin access. A Root Dedicated Server is more or less the same as a cloud server, but on bare metal – in other words, there is no pre-installed software, i.e. an operating system.

A Root Server combines the advantages of dedicated and cloud servers, has clearly defined dedicated resources (RAM and CPU) and can be expanded with additional storage – if needed. The hard disks are accessed via superfast hardware RAID and the server is easy to manage. However, it requires administrative knowledge of server systems.
Cloudservers
Our Cloudservers are a centralised server resource pool that is hosted and provided via a network – usually the internet – and can be accessed by multiple users on an as-needed basis. Cloud servers in general can perform the same functions as conventional physical servers and provide processing power, storage and applications.

Cloud servers can be located anywhere in the world and provide services remotely via a cloud computing environment. In contrast, traditional dedicated server hardware is usually set up on-premises for exclusive use by a company.
