Our Nine Infrastructure
Two separate Swiss data centres, a multiple redundancy network and high-quality server components form the technological backbone of Nine.
Your Data Is Safe with Us
Nine’s data centres are located within two separate sites in Zurich (Switzerland) – the colozueri and the e-shelter. The production servers and data backups are distributed across two sites.
Both data centres are connected by a route-redundant dark fibre ring. With this connection, data can be exchanged redundantly between the individual data centres at a speed of 2x 10 Gbps. The ring network also ensures high availability: if part of the ring is disrupted, the remaining parts automatically take over the data transfer.
Backups are stored in one of both sites, in a location isolated from the other systems. Depending on the site you choose, access is granted via biometric fingerprint scanner or the 24/7 on-site staff.
ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and FINMA guidelines
With the option Cert+, we run your server in an ISO 27001 certified data centre according to the regulations of FINMA Circular 2008/7 ‘Outsourcing – Banks’. And we’re also ISO 9001 certified.

Our Strengths
Nine has two separate locations in Zurich. The production servers and backups are split between two locations. Both data centres are connected via a redundant dark fibre ring. This connection allows for the redundant exchange of data between the two data centres at a speed of 2 x 10 Gbps. In addition, the ring connection ensures high availability: if part of the ring is disrupted, the remaining parts automatically take over the data transfer.
Emergency power
Redundant emergency power systems with diesel generators and batteries

FINMA guidelines
With the option Cert+ we are running your server in an ISO 27001 certified data centre, using the guidelines of FINMA Circular 08/7 ‘Outsourcing – Banks’ (at e-shelter)
State-of-the-Art Swiss Data Centres
colozueri.ch
This site is the most energy-efficient and carrier-neutral data centre in Zurich. It was designed and constructed to serve carriers, internet service providers, hosting companies and outsourcing partners who need rack space for server operations and other telecommunications equipment.
Several fibre carriers – both Swiss and international businesses – and internet service providers are represented at colozueri.ch. The date centre also operates a core switch, which is part of the SwissIX Internet Exchange. This makes it possible to establish a multi-homed infrastructure, including free peering.
E-Shelter
With a total of over 10,500 sqm of data centre space and a maximum IT load of 20 MW, E-Shelter offers optimal solutions to housing IT and network systems for various businesses. As an important ICT hub in Europe, this Zurich data centre is used by large technology companies with high data centre needs and accelerated digitalisation efforts.
This site uses separate, dual UPS systems (A and B supply) with 2N redundancy for every data centre building, as well as two independent external substations with a maximum capacity of 30 MVA. It is carrier-neutral and connected to the Swiss Internet Exchange, with access to leading public, private and hybrid cloud providers and redundant carrier meet-me rooms.
Energy Efficiency
The cooling system is one of the most important components of any data centre. The cooling system type and method are not only responsible for a substantial portion of the power usage, but also define the potential performance density and thus a data centre’s load intensity. Modern data centres use a principle called cold aisle containment, instead of cooling the entire space of the data centre itself.
At Nine, we use this cold aisle design for efficient energy use, thus making an important contribution to a green IT.
As a further commitment to a green IT, Nine receives its electricity exclusively from renewable energy sources, and with the support of myclimate (certification 2021), we have become completely carbon-neutral. Nine customers who would like to run their server product in an eco-friendly manner can easily add the option ‘carbon-neutrality’ to their product via e-mail.
