With the first snow, we were enticed by the mountains: Our coworking retreat took place at the base of the Säntis at the end of November last year. Find out what we did there and what we took away for our company and our customers in this blog post!

On a rather mild Sunday for the time of year, we met on the first day of our coworking to embark on a winter hike together – the whole retreat lasted three days and two nights. The aim of this event? To get a breath of fresh (mountain) air, get creative across teams and give employees the opportunity to work together on exciting projects in a relaxed atmosphere outside the usual office space. Spoiler alert: the employees were very satisfied and had nothing but praise for the retreat and all the activities. 🤩

Together with the Executive Board, I chose the beautiful hotel «Säntis – das Hotel» at the bottom of the Säntis mountain as the location for our retreat. Here we had the opportunity to work together and exchange ideas in a professionally equipped seminar room, but also – after work or before starting the working day – to take advantage of the wellness centre, indulge in culinary delights and hold a «Vision & Mission» meeting on the summit of the mountain at sunset.

It was there where Tom, our CEO, presented – as the name suggests – Nine’s vision and mission for the future to the employees so that we can support and satisfy our customers even better with new products, efficient support and customized services. The setting in the hotel on the Schwägalp was ideal and we had the best conditions for working together on exciting topics, but also for joint activities such as the winter walk mentioned at the beginning.

The setup of the hotel also gave us the opportunity to once again hold a «Town Hall» meeting. As (almost) all employees were present – even our two employees from Canada – we were able to discuss topics that concern us as a company, but also the people behind it, in front of an assembled group and require input from several people or teams. As we otherwise work in an open home office culture, the personal exchange on site was a welcome change, especially for many of our engineers.

All in all, we can call our first retreat of this kind in several years a great success! The harmonious setting encouraged a lively exchange and we recharged our batteries for the new year.

We would also like to say a special «thank you» to the team on site – the service was impeccable at all times and we felt very comfortable and cared for the whole time!

Where will it take us this year? And which season will it be this time? The only thing we know for sure is that it’s going to be awesome again – so stay tuned! 😉

Fancy a retreat with a mountain panorama yourself? Although all positions are currently filled at Nine, we are always happy and interested to receive unsolicited applications. Or you can check back later and maybe you’ll soon be part of Nine as well!
