What Managed Services does Nine offer?

We monitor your Managed Server around the clock and make sure security updates get applied. We store your server's backups in two geographically separate locations. Two Managed Services are included in the base price: one “simple” and one “complex” service. On our Managed Servers, we provide the “nine-manage-vhosts” and “nine-manage-databases” CLI tools. You create vhosts, Let's Encrypt certificates and additional users, as well as databases and database users, directly from the command line.

Usually not. For a few very time-consuming configurations, e.g. a database replication, we charge for our time.

Managed Services are covered by the SLA of the Managed Server they run on.

Yes, certain Managed Services can also be used together with your Root Server. OpenSearch, a Key-Value Store (Redis-compatible), and MySQL and PostgreSQL databases can be created directly via Cockpit.

Yes. As a Managed Service, we install MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL directly on your Managed Server, where you manage databases and database users via the “nine-manage-databases” CLI. If you need an independent test environment or a different version of the database engine (MySQL and PostgreSQL), our On-Demand Databases are a flexible and cost-effective alternative.

Yes, FTP is CHF 0.– as a Managed Service, but it requires Apache or Nginx to already be set up on the same server.
