Renuo is a Swiss software engineering company with the mission of writing great code – preferably in Ruby on Rails – without having to deal with server administration. For years, everything ran via Heroku, until a single Slack message got everything rolling. In us, Renuo found the perfect cloud hosting partner in Switzerland and they quickly realized why for us, Deploio is the clear number.

As an owner-managed Swiss company, Renuo has always been unhappy that Heroku is American and runs on AWS. It bothered them for many, many years. They’ve thought that it must be possible to use a product as cool as Heroku in Switzerland, where Renuo could kick down doors if they don’t like something – good luck with that at Salesforce. Renuo was in the Enterprise contract, simply a construct from hell. That’s when Deploio came to the rescue and at the right time.

Being in the software business doesn’t automatically also mean being in the infrastructure business. Renuo didn’t want to run Kubernetes themselves or anything to do with bare-metal servers. They didn’t want to know how to separate clients or who actually does kernel updates – this is where we come into play. Renuo develops the code: ‘git push’, CI/CD and their customers can test. We – and in this case Deploio – handle the infrastructure in Switzerland so that Renuo can focus on writing great code.
